Jaw crusher that is simple structure, reliable, adaptable and low cost is widely used in metallurgy, mining, chemicals, building materials industry and the ideal grinding machine.In nowadays most of the design about jaw crusher is based on traditional experience conclusions rather than a scientific calculation methods. Using the traditional design methods, it is difficult to design economical jaw crusher to meet the requirements of strength. In the current environment of economic crisis, it is significant for crusher enterprises to structural analysis and optimization of weight loss based on finite element theory to meet the strength and stiffness in order to survival and development, and to shorten the gap and catch up with the world advanced level.
In this paper,combining with the structural characteristics of PE -600x900 jaw crusher, the distributing situation of strength and stiffness about framework,mobile jaw body, flywheel and pulley of jaw crusher are discussed when jaw crusher works on the maximum breaking force state. Parts of affluence and lack about strength and stiffness are found, and optimization of weight loss is carried on to ensure the performance of the original machine did not fall by finite element theory and parametric modeling method.
First of all, the static maximum crushing force formula is established by studying characteristics of work organization about jaw crusher and crushing theory of material ,and the maximum breaking force is calculated when it crushes basalt. Then according to the knowledge of theoretical mechanics and geometry, size and the direction of force about framework, mobile jaw body,flywheel and pulley is calculated when maximum crushing force interacts. So it paves way for static analysis of jaw crusher.
Secondly, in order to enhance modeling accuracy and efficiency of finite element analysis, APDL language is used to establish the solid model of framework, mobile jaw body, flywheel and pulley. Then, the von mises stress pattem and the displacement vector sum pattem of them are obtained by meshing, loading, solving. So it can provide reference for optimization research based on finite element theory. But balance block of flywheel and pulley are removed before solid model of them are established. Then, the size of balance block is calculated according to the principle of system balance after optimal design is over.
Finally,According to the results of strength and stiffness about the various components of jaw crusher, optimal parameters are set. Then,optimal results of
them are found to ensure the performance of the original machine did not fall by optimization module of ANSYS. So it can provide reference for enterprises to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.
