Compared with normal high gradient magnetic separator, the superconducting magnetic separating machine is really a notch above for its low power consumption, small volume, light weight and short operating cycle. Though it improves the working efficiency and increases the processing capacity of the equipment, the high correlative costs have largely limited its application. With the breakthrough in superconducting technology, especially the discovery of low cost superconducting materials, superconducting magnetic separator is likely to replace the conventional high gradient magnetic separator.
