Ball mill application:

Ball mills are widely used in the manufacture industries, such as cement, silicate, new building material, refractory material, fertilizer, ferrous metal, nonferrous metal and glass ceramics and can be used for the dry and wet grinding for all kinds of ores and other grind-able materials.

There are many types of grinding media suitable for use in a ball mill, each material having its own specific properties and advantages. Common in some applications are stainless steel balls. While usually very effective due to their high density and low contamination of the material being processed, stainless steel balls are unsuitable for some applications, including:

Black powder and other flammable materials require non-sparking lead, antimony, brass, or bronze grinding media

Contamination by iron of sensitive substances such as ceramic raw materials. In this application ceramic or flint grinding media is used. Ceramic media are also very resistant to corrosive materials.

High density alumina media (90 95% alumina) is widely used in the ceramic industry to grind clay bodies, frits, glazes and other ingredients. It is more expensive than silica / silex media but is more efficient

Ball mill introduction:

Ball mill, a type of Grinding Mill, is a cylinder-shaped device used to grind materials like ores, chemicals, ceramic raw materials and paints. The ball mills are the key milling equipment after material has been crushed. It is divided into two rubbing way---- the dry and the wet. Ball mill is mainly composed of charging and discharging, cyclone and rotation parts (like redactor, minor rotation gear, motor, electric machine, etc). Hollow axis is made of steel parts with a lining replicable. Major rotation gear, machined by rolling wheel of casting, is lined with wearing plate with fine wear-resisting property. This machine runs stably and reliably. Ball mills rotate around a horizontal axis, partially filled with the material to be ground plus the grinding medium. Different materials are used for media, including ceramic balls, flint pebbles and stainless steel balls.
